Deana, March 2017

Deana, mom of 10 and 12 yr olds
Deana planned her own trip and booked her lodges, Global Family provided guides and general Costa Rica info

We had an amazing trip, and thanks to you for helping me plan it. And we loved both Gil and Leo, they were so sweet!! We miss Gil :-(. He was so much fun for the kids, a great conversationalist, and such a warm heart. He went out of his way to get us where we needed to go always!

-We loved the sloth sanctuary and the baby sloths!! (doing the behind the scenes tour is a must)…it was so worth it 🙂
-our visit with our sponsored child was very cool too
-The Nayara Resort [Arenal Volcano] was beautiful and amazing … 5 star treatment! Classy restaurant called Altamira with live music at 7:00 pm nightly.
-Enjoyed our day at Club Rio (did river tubing, super fun, hot springs, and horseback riding…huge delicious lunch included)
-ziplining in Monteverde was super fun, even though we had done it before, we could not believe how the lines went forever! And we loved that the temperature was cool and that we were not dying in the heat. 🙂
-hikes with Gil were great! We did two, which for our family was a perfect amount.
-the accommodations at the Preserve at Altos [Manuel Antonio beach area] were amazing, Gil can tell you about it as he saw our room…we loved the location as we could walk to a bunch of restaurants. And the breakfasts in the morning were great…they catered to the kids by making custom animal pancakes (sloths, butterflies, monkeys), and the view from the restaurant is amazing! Their french toast was to die for too. Pool was nice with poolside service for drinks and food. Staff at the front desk were all super nice a funny. 🙂
-we took Helijet plane to Liberia and that was super cool, being able to show up 10 minutes before the flight, and having the pilot and copilot help with our luggage. Very scenic….$300 per person but well worth it! Our first private plane ride (it was a five seater). I would have to say it wouldn’t fit five people though with our luggage…unless the copilot wasn’t there.
-loved the monkeys and raccoons at Manuel Antonio park.
-the treehouse at Andrea Cristina was an adventure, lol, but we are still glad that we did it! Very nice people.

I totally forgot to tell you how much we enjoyed the Segway tour! …very professional, very nice guys, and so cool going across the ferry and seeing Coconut Island as they call it. We did the 2 1/2 hour tour.
