Spanish Immersion Itineraries

Learn Spanish and go native – Spanish Immersion Tico Style!

Looking to learn or improve your Spanish and experience Costa Rican culture? Spend a week at the CPI language immersion school in Monteverde Cloud Forest. You will have four hours of small group (2-5) instruction in the morning and have the afternoons off to play and explore the Monteverde Cloud Forest area and all the activities it has to offer. You can combine this with a home stay with a local Tico family and get truly immersed in the language and culture!

Spanish classes are ideal for middle school through college students and adults. A separate program is available for younger kids that includes either Spanish classes or babysitting. For children 12 and under, an age appropriate course corresponds with the particular learning needs of young people. Class time is divided into modules with emphasis on basic communication skills, vocabulary, and the introduction of grammatical concepts, coupled with art, linguistic games, and hands on learning.

For children 4-6 years old, CPI has developed a special program covering basic vocabulary and interesting topics appropriate for this age. Babysitting for this age group is offered in place of a course that includes crafts, walks, etc.

Parents and children are rarely in the same group as groups are based on Spanish level and age. It is possible for high school or college aged children to be places in the same group as their parents if they are at a similar level of Spanish.
