In early March, 2024, my wife and I and another couple with whom we’ve traveled extensively, enjoyed a private tour of Costa Rica with Jose. Our first stop was near Arenal Volcano with numerous hikes, a river float and an organic farm tour. From there we drove to Isla Chaquita for glamping, kayaking, snorkeling and more hiking. Our final leg was to the beach at Manuel Antonio National Park for more water sports.

Early on we connected with Jose. His upbeat personality and his enthusiasm for the country’s wildlife and ever-changing landscapes was contagious, and we looked forward to each new day. Jose is remarkably knowledgeable, is able to locate and identify wildlife, and he proved to be a very skilled driver. At the end, we hated parting and wished we had a few more days with our guide, Jose.
