“Our trip was truly a family adventure.

Despite visiting many places we were able to relax and enjoy our vacation. We were able to structure the days in accordance with our little daughter’s sleeping routine and yet we stayed pretty busy. Showing some pictures to people who recently visited Costa Rica I surprised them at how much we got to see during this short trip. We saw many wildlife species. We got to taste local food. At Alex’s place [Andrea Cristina B&B] it even felt as we lived like locals.

“Here are our notes / tips from our trip:

1. Buena Vista hotel
   Loved the location. Some rooms are fantastic (looking out over city). Some rooms are a little loud (rooms that are near front of hotel, right over where workers start arriving at 6am). Play area in back is nice, we didn’t realize it was there until our second stop on way out. Breakfast was great.
2. Monteverde
   Loved Arco Iris EcoLodge, people at front desk were great, laundry was inexpensive (nice touch), breakfast was great, nice to be able to walk to things. We went zip-lining with

“Overall, our trip was wonderful!

Our highlights were:

1. Loved the Cultour at La Casona. We would recommend this very highly to everyone. Food was amazing (best we had in Costa Rica), hosts incredibly friendly and informative, and meeting the kids at the school just fabulous. Then the farm visit too. So much fun.
2. We also loved Eco Danaus. It was a perfect setting to see such a variety of animals, insects and plants. So enjoyable.
3. The beaches in Cahuita were right up our alley. The mellow feel of the town, the wonderful guesthouse, great swimming at the beaches made

“The main benefit to going to Costa Rica with Global Family Adventures was that Jenny provides an amazingly detailed itinerary, yet you have all the flexibility to pick and choose your activities.

She does all the research you would like to do if you were not so busy – you can relax and enjoy!

In Monte Verde / St Elena for example we did about a 2.5 hour walk. Both Kevin [guide] and Alice [sitter] interacted with our son a lot, showing him leaves, animals, seeds, trees that kids could walk through. They kept him so

“We had an absolutely wonderful time. Luis was a fantastic guide- he was patient with our 6 and 4yo kids, and we all learned so much from him.

The home visit in Sarapiqui was really great [booked through Selva Verde lodge]. We visited a family with a 7yo child- our kids didn’t want to leave after a nearly 2hr visit! We saw their animals and crops- so in this case, it was more of a home visit (which was what we wanted) than a farm visit. I would highly recommend it- especially if you can specify visiting

• LOVED Arco Iris. We had our own cabin. White faced monkeys were in the tree outside the building that breakfast was in.
• We all enjoyed the cheese factory.

“We had a completely wonderful trip!! Kevin is not only a phenomenal guide, but he is also a great guy.

He was terrific with the kids at all times, courteous, energetic, and knowledgable. It is obvious that he has a genuine love for his country and his work. When he dropped us at the hotel at the end of the tour, we felt like we were saying goodbye to family. My son, who is not a crier, actually cried after Kevin left.

“We had a wonderful time and the tour exceeded our expectations

Thank You! Jose Pablo [guide] was just fantastic! He’s like an extended family member now! We used him for airport transportation also as did my parents…..he was so reliable and knowledgeable.

We saw so much wildlife that we never could have without Jose….he has a spotting scope which was awesome. The sun shone for us in Arenal so the views were spectacular….a definite highlight was the school visit in Sarapiqui…my girls had a ball meeting the kids and played with them for over an hour….
