Top Three Highlights: Kalumbu Waterpark in Arenal (inexpensive, fun, 90F a good temp for kids, uncrowded at night), Curi-Cancha Reserve in Monteverde (uncrowded, not a terribly demanding walk, easy to see animals), Selvatura (one-stop-shop was nice on bad roads, very good exhibits and well- maintained trails.)

Liberia airport was easy to navigate going and coming. No scam-type shenanigans that I saw other than eager taxi drivers, and the airport employees were quick to move us away from them.

The trip was great! Leo was awesome.
In la Fortuna we ended up doing the hot springs at Los Lagos per Leo‘s suggestion which was really nice and way cheaper than Baldi or Tabacon. I think it was less crowded because there were not as many international groups I suspect. We got in for $15 per person and stayed a few hours. It rained some but no big deal. We ate at the bar/restaurant. The slides and variation in pools were nice.

We had a fantastic trip! You do an amazing job with planning and information. I plan complex projects for a living so I’m pretty meticulous about vacation planning, and this whole experience was awesome. I can see why your family loves Costa Rica so much!

Aro Isis in Monteverde – apparently this time of year is “scorpion party season” as the hotel manager told me when we checked out. We found 3 in our room. A huge one on the curtain and then a couple ant sized ones in the towels. We just made sure to check things before using

Thanks Jenny! We did end up taking nature air from Limon to SJO and taxi to peace lodge-$60 for taxi (less than peace lodge transport). It was well worth the extra money and getting up early. The drive out to Cahuita was very long!
The Peace Lodge room was incredible, the kids really enjoyed the animals. It was too zoo like for me. I felt like a captive there with high prices for everything. I compare it to Disney! I just wanted typical casados for dinner instead of fancy dinners. But at this point we were low on cash

Thanks- we had a great time in Costa Rica. We loved the mix of adventure in the rainforest and relaxation by the beach.

Dauren, our guide, was terrific. He was extremely good at spotting animals on out hikes, knew everything that we wanted to know about the country and was very attentive and good at sensing our needs, preferences etc.

Our highlights were the hikes on the hanging bridges, the night hike, los Laureles hot springs (fantastic!) and of course relaxing at the pool and the beach with our kids. It’s really difficult to point anything out in particular. We

We had a lovely time in Costa Rica, thanks! You itinerary was precise and your activity suggestions were very helpful. José Pablo was very good at organizing the activities we were interested in, and proposing others that were in the area and might fit into the schedule. He was patient with our lateness, found suitable restaurants that might cater to the adult or kid preferences of the moment, and managed those LONG drives.

First off, we loved it!!! We really enjoyed feeling like we saw a good portion of the country. The outdoor landscape with the mountains and beaches was fabulous. We spent as much time as possible outdoors and really loved every minute.

Hotel Aeropuerto: Loved this hotel! Looking back, it was funny how our first day there we were so excited to see “all of the” birds and wildlife. Staff was wonderful to deal with (we did so many 3 separate visits!) and very accommodating. Special thanks to Luis of HA for assisting us with taxis, directions and room accommodations.
