We enjoyed very much the trip arranged by you. The guide Leo is very good and knowledgeable. The accommodation at the Arenal Observatory, Phil’s Villa, is excellent. We particularly enjoyed sitting at the front porch to watch the volcano, the Observatory Restaurant and the 24/7 shuttle service between the hotel and the villa.

Kalimba Villa at Samara Beach is different, but is nice in a different way. Roberto is hospitable and friendly. We had the chance to take in his dinner offering, which is good, but expensive at US$35 per adult with additional charge on beverage.

It was a really big adventure and we made some great memories. Jose was a terrific guide. He was knowledgable about the area but more importantly he was easy to be around and good at providing us the right amount of information, support, suggestions, etc. We have never traveled with a guide before and some of my kids are quite shy and Jose was able to engage them but not overwhelm them. I was also very impressed with his driving skills and overall safety awareness. We also appreciated his ability to suggest activities and scheduling to fit our needs

Thanks so much for all your help in organizing our recent trip to Costa Rica. As requested, here is some feedback we hope is helpful. In summary, we had a great time and everything seemed very organised and we felt well-informed.

Overall, Jose was fantastic and we only have great things to say about him. Jose was very personable, relaxed, had a great sense of humour and lots of knowledge on everything Costa Rican. You arranged a wonderful “cooks tour” of central and coastal CR and we just loved it! There were so many highlights I hardy know where to start. We left a snowy, cold monochromatic world to fly to a place of magic, color, and burgeoning life. It started and stopped at the Buena Vista which was luxurious and relaxing [with the tiny exception of the chronically barking dog just over the fence — but we have one of those here!].

Our trip was wonderful! The itinerary that you put together satisfied my desires and, I believe, those of everyone beyond expectations. At every location, we saw amazing wildlife and unbelievably diverse and rich habitats. The array of optional activities allowed us all to do what we most wanted. The trip was fantastic and Leo was outstanding.
The highlights were night snorkeling in Drake Bay and surfing in Jaco.
The lodges were amazing and Leo was so flexible and always accommodating.

Something I wondered was if it made sense to fly to Drake Bay from San Jose.
By the time we got to Drake Bay, it felt like we spent a lot of time driving.
We would have preferred 2 nights @ Hotel Cerro to have more time @ Jaco and to do Manuel Antonio 1st thing in the morning.

The trip was perfect! When we left, my youngest, Thomas, was in tears because he loved Costa Rica and would especially miss Jose Pablo. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide, he was knowledgeable, fun, and so great with the kids. Each place we visited was beautiful. We loved rafting [Green Rivers in Sarapiqui] and the Tirimbina chocolate tour in Sarapiqui. La Fortuna waterfall was beautiful as well as the hanging bridges.
